As you know, I have stepped down from the Barnstable Town Council because of health concerns. I sadly could not keep up with the demands needed to represent you. Thanks to both candidates for stepping up for the special election on October 13th.
I am endorsing Cathy Ledec. Experience matters.
Cathy Ledec has been the Town of Barnstable’s representative to the Cape Cod Commission (CCC) since 2024. Cathy has reviewed complicated projects across the Cape, most especially in Barnstable, for the CCC.
She does her homework and asks pointed questions with her goal of making projects better for residents and the Cape’s fragile environment.I have worked beside Cathy as we pushed to improve the Hanover II housing project off Wilkens Lane. Cathy came prepared and submitted many comments for the review committee. She successfully called for an increase in the number of affordable units.
Cathy also advocated water and energy conservation measures and long-term sustainability of the buildings. Because of her efforts, this project was greatly improved.In the Town of Barnstable, Cathy served on the Town Council Ad-hoc Zoning Committee contributing many ideas.
She also contributed to the recently updated Barnstable Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP).Cathy has shown to be a persistent, dedicated, hardworking candidate with a long-term commitment to local and regional government and the Town of Barnstable.
She knows how local government works and she has proven that she knows how to get things done.I could go on, but her own words and experiences are online for everyone to read.
